Our approach is to provide the convenience of Medicare enrollments both online and over the telephone with systems that are compliant with all federal and state regulations for remote Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement marketing and enrollment. This requires specialized systems that provide for your privacy and secure your personal health and identity information. I have contracted only with experienced national and statewide marketing organizations that provide the security and processes to allow us to complete these convenient methods of policy comparison, choice (you choose from among the options, we assist), and enrollment. Please call us for quotes and to answer any questions you may have.
When you turn age 65, you are eligible for Medicare. Most people who have worked for 40 quarters (10 years) and paid Medicare taxes during their employment will be automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A hospitalization insurance. You will be asked if you want Part B, and you will have to enroll if you want it. Part B covers the cost of physician visits, urgent care, clinics, outpatient tests ordered by your doctor, etc. Part B comes with a monthly premium that is automatically deducted from your Social Security retirement benefit check. Go to the official government website for full details: https://www.medicare.gov/
Part D Medicare prescription drug coverage is provided by private insurance companies. Please note that there are penalties for late enrollment in Medicare Parts B and D.
If you remain covered by group insurance after age 65, do not assume that you do not have to enroll in Medicare Parts B and D. While most group insurance will coordinate benefits with Medicare Part A, that is not always the case, and benefits for medical coverage offered by Medicare Part B may or may not continue in your group plan. Prescription Drug Coverage in your group plan may not meet Medicare standards to allow it to substitute for Part D. Avoid possible late enrollment penalties and coverage gaps by talking with your company's benefits administrator.
To see all of the Medicare Advantage plans in your market area, go to https://www.medicare.gov/. The companies I offer are changing with my experience in each market I visit. To see the number of plans and the companies I offer in your market area, click on the button below.
We offer supplemental plans to fill in the gaps in your Original Medicare (the federal government's fee for service plan which you use if you do not enroll in Medicare Advantage). These plans can help pay deductibles and other cost sharing.
We also offer hospital indemnity plans to reduce the cost of hospitalization for Medicare Advantage plan clients.
Dental and vision insurance is available through us, as well.
Many people in the age groups I serve retire early under the age of 64. If this describes you, you are not eligible for coverage by a group health plan, and you suffer from a preexisting condition and qualify for a Special Enrollment Period or during the Annual Enrollment Period, the Affordable Care Act Plans are your recommended choice. Other plans will not cover your preexisting condition, or complications caused by it, until after a stated waiting period, often a year, or not at all. You cannot enroll in an individual Qualified Health Plan if your employer offers qualifying group coverage, or if your spouse's employer offers group coverage that is available to you.
However, without the individual mandate in place there is no longer a penalty for getting health insurance plans that do not comply with the Affordable Care Act mandates. You are now free to look at plans that do not cover preexisting conditions that may offer lower premiums. First, though, go to the government's official Affordable Care Act website, https://www.healthcare.gov/, to see if you are eligible for government premium tax credits that may make your Affordable Care Act plan significantly less expensive. These tax credits are available at higher income levels than most people imagine, check it out at the government website.
Short term health insurance plans are now able to offer coverage for as little as 30 days and as long as 360 days in Florida and many other states. The 360 day plans are now renewable each year for up to three years. After checking on your Affordable Care Act eligibility and costs, please check out our short term health plan options as an alternative. Note that there is federal rule making on going as of July 2023 that may limit short term health insurance to less than one year coverage periods.
Our practice offers short term plans that provide you with flexible coverage options and proven claims paying histories.
